Acne medication can be expensive. Some people who are especially worried about chemicals in over-the-counter acne medications and the side effects of prescription acne products are looking for a home remedy for acne. Luckily for them, there is many a home remedy for acne. A home remedy for acne is good for people who are worried about chemicals and side effects. But don't expect next-day results. Every home remedy for acne takes a little time to have an effect. Let's look at some of them:
* Egg Yolk Mask. This is a good home remedy for acne. Just beat an egg yolk and apply it with a cotton ball. Let it dry for 15 minutes, and then peel it off.
* Distilled White Vinegar. Distilled white vinegar is another good home remedy for acne, but you should be careful if you have sensitive skin. If you do, then you should use a mixture of water and vinegar. For other people, just wash your face with mild soap and then apply the vinegar with a cotton ball. Wait 10 minutes, and rinse.
* Honey Oatmeal Mask. This is an excellent home remedy for acne if you have oily skin. Just mix honey with some oatmeal until is has a paste-like consistency. Then apply it to your face. Wait for 15 minutes, and then rinse it off.
* Ice Cubes. Actually, ice cubes are less a home remedy for acne as much as they are a prevention method. If you already have acne, it is not going to help it. But if you feel a pimple developing under the skin, then wrap an ice cube in a towel and apply it to the area.
* Steam. Steam is always good for clearing the pores. The best way to do it is to boil some water. After wards, add a few teaspoons of tea tree oil. Throw a towel over your head and let the steam go onto your face for 5 minutes. Rinse off your face afterwards.
* Some natural exfoliates. Citrus juices, like lemons or tomatoes, make a great home remedy for acne. Just put some juice on a cotton ball and apply it to the face. After 10 minutes rinse it off. Any of these will help to remove dead skin from clogged pores.
